Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.) at the Roosevelt International University of Baptist (RIUOB) is an undergraduate degree in theology aimed at equipping one with a good foundation altogether of biblical, doctrinal, and ministerial work in preparation of being a Christian worker and church leader. The program provides students with knowledge needed in the Scriptures, theology, the history of the church and practical ministry of the Baptist faith tradition.
The B.Div. is such that it builds a basic theological competence, spiritual growth and practical ministry. It caters to the future pastors, church employees, missionaries, youth leaders, and volunteers in ministry that need a systematic theological education based on the authority of the bible and the Baptist tenet.
The program combines the study with the practice of ministry. Among the students are biblical interpretation studies, doctrinal studies, apologetics, pastoral care, evangelism, and management of the local church. It has a focus on ethical Christian leadership, spiritual maturity as well as effective service both in the local church and the global church context.
This scholastic experience consists of theological studies, practicum on ministry, research, and a final project or a ministry practicum. The curriculum equips graduates to become diligent and efficient in multiple ministry settings and provides a foundation to additional theological education, including M.Div. or advanced training to be a minister.
